Our Origin Story
Lion Literary was founded by author, literary agent, and multi-hyphenate publishing professional Bethany Saltman. Under her direction, and with the help of trusted (and always independent) collaborators and a network of sub-rights agents and scouts, we support our clients in every aspect of bringing their books to the global market.
Our work together includes the craft of writing, the art of proposals, long-game marketing and brand building, bestseller-ready submission and publication, and creative career coaching.
We take our books very personally.
Submissions
We are a highly-selective agency, but our taste is genre-agnostic. We love finely-tuned narrative, prescriptive, and expert-led nonfiction—including memoir.
